Entry Level MWD Field Engineer
As an Entry Level MWD Field Engineer you will manage well site survey equipment and prepare reports. Field Engineers verify data quality, maintain MWD equipment, produce field reports, and represent Gordon Technologies on location. The MWD Field Engineer will assist in the drilling of the customer’s well to its engineered plan. Field Engineers will report on drilling job progress and assist with other client service needs. A successful MWD Field Engineer is a very self-sufficient and adaptable individual. Experience • No prior MWD experience necessary. • Training will be provided in a classroom setting at the Gordon facility. • Training will also be provided at the rig site under the guidance and supervision of a Lead MWD Field Engineer. Duties & Responsibilities • Rig Communications – Must be able to communicate with various levels of drilling rig personnel. • Highly Mobile – The Field Engineer will travel to various drilling rigs around the district, and has to be prepared to meet all the circumstances involved. • Commitment to Safety – Must be safety conscious and each assignment will involve the implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures. • Unlimited and Irregular Work Hours – The job does not follow a fixed schedule and the Field Engineer will frequently spend extended periods of time at a field location. • Data Quality and Performance Standards – The Field Engineer will provide high quality data and information to the client while maintaining the health, safety and environmental program on the assignment. • Performs all duties in a safe manner. • Complies with Company safety policies and procedures. • Complies with Customer safety policies and procedures. • Complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations and procedures. • Operates Company vehicles in a safe manner, observing all Company and governmental regulations. • Attains and applies comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. Requirements • Subject to “on-call” hours 24 hours a day 7 days a week. • Will be required to work out of town for extended periods of time. • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude. • Must have proficient computer skills. • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. • Must be team-oriented and work well with others. • Must have good communication skills. • Must have legal right to be permanently employed in the United States. Preferred Skills & Knowledge • BS in Engineering, Technology, Geology/Geoscience is preferred.
